At VANK, we use a variety of materials, including renewable, recycled and recovered materials. The natural material we use as the finish to our acoustic solutions and modular systems is a biocomposite based on fibrous plants, offering sound insulation and sound absorption properties.
Wood is also a naturally sourced material. The seats of our armchairs are made, for example, of chips of wood from the trunk, allowing remaining material from the production process to be used. The tops of office tables, desks, and coffee tables are made of wood-based SWISSCDF board. The plywood and veneer used for chairs are also wood-based products.
VANK offers acoustic panels made from waste – used PET bottles – and chairs made from 50% industrial waste and 50% consumer waste. We also use melted aluminium cans to make bases or frames for different sorts of chairs, tables, and acoustic walls. Our portfolio includes biodegradable and annually renewable fabrics based on natural wool or hemp, as well as natural zero-waste leather and fabrics made of recycled polyester.

VANK materials and solutions – design and functionality
VANK creates innovative interior solutions combining design, functionality and a variety of materials. Depending on the product, we use materials including biocomposite based on fibrous plants, wood, and materials made from recycled and recovered sources.
Selected solutions use biocomposite based on fibrous plants. This material is used in VANK products, including selected solutions designed to organise and arrange interior spaces.
Wood is also used in our production. We work with suppliers holding FSC certification. The type of wood used and its origin depend on the specific product and its configuration.
Materials from recycled and recovered sources
Selected VANK products use recycled materials, including materials made from used PET bottles, as well as materials containing industrial and post-consumer waste.
We also use selected recovered materials. One example is post-industrial polyurethane foam, used in selected products. This material from a production process can therefore be reused as a component of a new product.
Selected products also use aluminium obtained through processing. Individual products may be available in different material options, so detailed information about the materials used and their origin depends on the specific model and its configuration.
